Windows 8 & ARM The Future Computer ?

From January 2011, Microsoft where debuted on Windows 8 on the Consumer Electronics Show at it upcoming features and capabilities of Windows 8. One of the important capabilities of Windows 8 is the ability to run on an ARM processor.
ARM, means Advanced RISC Machine, which are prominent on smaller items over the last decade, but which are not been popular in the personal computer market.
These processors are different from the Processors from Intel and AMD, on their way of handling instructions. These processors run on a RISC (Reduced Instruction Set Computers) based architecture. These system will process a single instructions per clock cycle, at a very high speed.
For the last few decades, ARM processors has fit perfectly with those products which only requires one task or a number of small tasks. But as CISC (Complex Instruction Set Computers) architecture, which has a ability to follow a complex sets of instructions. CISC processors (x86) which is the popular one in PC’s because of the ability of the processor to run multiple complex operations at a time.
But the CISC architecture based systems gives heavy emphasis on the PC,but the RISC architecture based systems will give heavy emphasis on the software which is running. This is one of the reasons that make ARM processors receives only a little consumer support.

iPhone which is having ARM processors has kept their market growing. ARM processors can be do as minuscule as digital clocks to pacemakers.
Microsoft’s announcement indicates its ability of Windows 8 which 'shows two separate things. 1st is it’s ability to run on the tablet and netbook through Windows 8, instead of using the mobile phone OS like Windows Phone 7. Whereas some other popular tablets runs with “watered down” OS, like the Apple iPad runs on a version of Mac OS X (iOS). Microsoft try's to integrate it's amazing fully featured Windows 8 to the tablets which is  having the capability of running on an ARM system.
Microsoft’salso try's to support ARM in their newest operating system because as the latest processors from companies like AMD and Intel are far beyond the needs of more than half of the PC market. So this will help most people and make them quite happy with the features, and advantages, of ARM-based systems.
While CISC systems will continue to dominate in the personal computing world, ARM processors has only begin to start gaining their share in the personal computer market. The advantages of ARM in these systems will be much greater than those PC's using CISC systems from Intel and AMD.
ARM processors require only a less power and will generate only a lower amount of heat while running. But a CISC processor will need to be cooled down by a fan.ARM processors are also much less costlier than Intel and AMD’s offerings. It's because ARM technology is licensed to all the manufacturers and developers which help them to make their own variants of ARM processors.
Since the RISC architecture is simpler than the CISC architecture, which will make the overall manufacturing costs of ARM processors less. This cost effectiveness of RISC technology will be helpfull to both companies and consumers.Thanku..
