1) For Restoring your My Documents folder if deleted
Click Start > Run > type:rundll32 mydocs.dll, RestoreMyDocsFolder

2) For Changing My Computer's Icon
Control Panel > Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop
3) Hide My Documents, My Computer, My Network Places, Internet Explorer
Right-click on the desktop > click Properties > Desktop > Customize Desktop
4) For increasing your computer Performance through My Computer
Start > Right Click My Computer > select properties > Click "Advanced" tab >click "Performance" tab > Click "Settings"
For incresing the performance you should disable all or some of the following:
->Fade or slide menus into view
->Fade or slide ToolTips into view
->Fade out menu items after clicking
->Show Shadows under menus
->Slide open combo boxes
->Slide taskbar buttons
->Use background image for each folder type
->Use common tasks in folders

Right-click the taskbar > select Properties

6) For placing the modem status in the system tray
Network Connections > {Right-click your connection}> Properties > General > Show icon in notification area when connected
7) For placing Network Icon In System tray
Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > right-click network connection that you want on monitor > Properties > check Show icon in notification area when connected > click OK.

8) For adding a Folder to the Taskbar
Right click on the Tasksbar >select Toolbars > click New Toolbar > Browse to the Folder you want (All the items from your chosen folder will be added to your taskbar).
You can delete this toolbar from the Taskbar by right-clicking on the tasksbar > remove the check mark.
9) To change your folders' icons
Right click the folder > click Properties > Customize > Change icon

10) To change your drive letters
Start > Run > diskmgmt.msc > OK > Right-click the drive > click change drive letter and paths... > click change

Warning: Don't change your Windows drive letter which usually appear as C:.
11) For preventing Password Expiration (For XP Pro Only)
Click Start > Run > type control userpasswords2
Click the Advanced tab > Advanced button
Left pane: Click Users
Right pane: Right-click the username > select Properties
Check Password never expires on the General tab
12) Prevent a Windows logon prompt at startup
Control Panel > User Accounts > Change an account
Do not enter a password
Control Panel > User Accounts > Change an account
Do not enter a password
13) Why the logon screen come up after on standby mode in XP Pro
For a security perspective, XP Pro will prompt for your password when coming off standby or hibernation mode. But if your computer is at home or in a secured location,You can disable this important security feature:
Start the Power Options Control Panel applet > Then Start > Control Panel > Power Options > Select the Advanced tab > Then uncheck the Prompt for password when computer goes off standby check box > Click OK.
