Steps To Test RAM or Memory Using Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool In Win-7

Windows 7 consist of a boot-time Memory Diagnostic Tool that can be used to runs a detailed memory test which includes a comprehensive set of memory tests.
If you are having problems while running Windows 7, you can use this tool to know whether the problems are caused due to the failure of any hardware, such as RAM or the memory system of your motherboard. Also if there is any problem due to over clocking or tweaking of your RAM settings in BIOS then using Windows Memory Diagnostic tool you can do RAM or memory stability check.

For this you can do any one of the the following methods:
Method 1:
 You can access Windows Memory Diagnostic in two ways:

  1) From Start Menu
  • Click Start button > type memory > click on Windows Memory Diagnostic
   2) From Control Panel
  • Click Start button > Select Control Panel > Click the System and Maintenance icon
  • Select Administrative Tools
  • click Memory Diagnostics Tool icon. 
  • There click Restart now and check for problems
  • Your computer will get restarted
  • The memory diagnostic will starts to run and may take some time
  • Windows will restart again and shows report of any errors to you.

Method 2: 
     From Command Prompt
  • Click Start button.
  • Type cmd in the search box.
  • Right-click cmd.exe and select Run as administrator.
  • Type mdsched.exe in command prompt > press enter.
  •  
  • Click the option to restart your computer now and run the memory diagnostics test or to schedule the memory diagnostic test to run at your next reboot.
Method 4: 
      From The Boot Manager
  • Restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard at startup.
  • This will open advanced boot options window.
  • Click Esc.
  • You will reach the Windows Boot Manager screen.
  • Press Tab for moving the Tools section of the boot manager screen and press enter to start the Memory Diagnostics.
If you want to selectreach advanced options when you starts the Memory Diagnostic Tool , just press the F1 for modifying the type of tests and how much times they run. After you finish, press F10 to start.
If you are having any error.s it will be show up while it scans and show you the report at the next time your computer boots up.If you want to stop the scan press Esc. If there is any errors in your memory it’s time to change your computer’s memory.
